Two members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and a source were critically injured in an attack by a group of unidentified miscreants at Mirsarai Upazila in Chittagong on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Baraiyarhat municipality area of Mirsarai Upazila in the evening, RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Nurul Abshar said.
The injured are identified as Shamim Kauser, 29, Mokhlesur Rahman, 33, and Mohammad Parvez, 28. Of them, Parvez is a source of RAB.
The injured were first taken to a private hospital in Baraiyarhat. Later, they were rushed to Feni General Hospital. Two critically injured RAB members are being sent to Dhaka by helicopter at night, Nurul Abshar said.
Jorarganj police Inspector (investigation) Khairul Alam said senior law enforcement officials are coming to the spot. The details of the incident are yet unknown.
According to local sources, RAB members were chasing a private car and managed to catch it at a place near Baraiyarhat Municipality. Later, the passengers in the car shouted that they were robbers and called the people near the area and attacked them.
Shahidul Islam, a doctor at the emergency department of Feni General Hospital, said that after taking the injured to the hospital, RAB officials came and made arrangements for the two to be airlifted to Dhaka for better treatment.

A helicopter arrived at Feni’s Language Martyrs Salam Stadium around 9:30 pm to pick them up.
